VENUE OF THE MONTH, ASHRIDGE HOUSE
This month we bring you one of the most beautiful venues we have been lucky enough to dress over the years. Ashridge House is situated in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire and has the most fascinating 700 year history. The house has been a monastery, a royal residence and a military hospital over the years, along with having had many other uses. It now remains a business school, and is available to exclusively hire for private events and weddings.
If you are looking for a venue for your event which is steeped in history and has the most expansive and striking rooms to prove it, this is definitely a venue you should be checking out. The gardens are spectacular and there are so many fantastic photo opportunities against a backdrop of an incredibly grand house. If your party is between 80-190 guests, then Ashridge will be able to accommodate you.
My favourite part of the venue is the private chapel. It is perfect for a small and intimate wedding ceremony and has the most beautiful interior which is just waiting for stacks of flowers to dress it!
Everything about Ashridge is big and luxurious. Huge windows, high ceilings, and doors the size of walls. The best way to decorate this venue is also to go big! It lends itself well to cascading floral installations, floral arrangements that represent English countryside and colours that lift the dark interiors of the many rooms. To make the most of your decor budget, choose key pieces in the venue that you will be using the most and dress these strikingly. If you can decorate every room, then go for it! But if your budget doesn’t stretch that far, I would advise decorating the grand staircase and go for luxury table centrepieces.
Your wedding breakfast at Ashridge House will probably be the biggest part of your day, so make the most impact here with your wedding design and flowers! We have designed small and intimate weddings in this grand room, as well as dressing the space at its maximum capacity. Both work really well and whatever layout you go for - tall or low centrepieces, just made sure your design is dramatic and has plenty of light touches to keep the room airy.
A stunning venue in the Hertfordshire countryside that has so many different options for design and decor to suit your event.
